Q. 88. What are the outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicateth to us the benefits of redemption?

A. The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicateth to us the benefits of redemption are, his ordinances, especially the Word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for salvation.[184]

Matthew 28:18-20. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (마28:18-20 예수께서 나아와 일러 가라사대 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니 그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 족속으로 제자를 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 주고 내가 너희에게 분부한 모든 것을 가르쳐 지키게 하라 볼찌어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라 하시니라 
 
Acts 2:41-42. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (행2:41-42 그 말을 받는 사람들은 세례를 받으매 이 날에 제자의 수가 삼천이나 더하더라 저희가 사도의 가르침을 받아 서로 교제하며 떡을 떼며 기도하기를 전혀 힘쓰니라 


문88. 그리스도 께서 우리에게 구원의 유익을 전하시려고 나타내시는 보통 방법이 무엇인가 ?

답. 그리스도께서 우리에게 구원의 유익을 전하시려고 나타내시는 보통 방법은 그의 규례인데, 특별히 하나님의 말씀과 성례와 기도이다. 이것이 모두 그 택하신 자에게 효력이 되어 구원을 얻게 한다.

      (1) 성경 말씀 (딤후 3:16,17 )

      (2) 성례 (마 28:19,20 , 눅 22:15 , 요 6:53-57 )

      (3) 기도 (눅 11:13 , 행 2:41,42 )
