Q. 50. Wherein consisted Christ's humiliation after his death?

A. Christ's humiliation after his death consisted in his being buried,[200] and continuing in the state of the dead, and under the power of death till the third day;[201] which hath been otherwise expressed in these words, He descended into hell.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4. (고전15:3-4) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Psalm 16:10. (시16:10) For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:24-27. (행02:24-27) Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:31. (행02:31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Romans 6:9. (롬06:9) Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Matthew 12:40. (마12:40) For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

문 50. 그리스도께서 죽으신 후 그의 낮아지심은 어떻게 이루어졌는가?

답. 그리스도께서 죽으신 후 그의 낮아지심은 장사됨과 죽은 자의 상태를 계속하시고 제 삼일까지 사망의 권세 아래 계신 것이니 이를 다른 말로 그가 지옥으로 내려가셨다 고 표현한다.
