Xilin Gol League (xī lín guō lè méng 锡林郭勒盟) lies in the center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with Xilinhot (xī lín hào tè 锡林浩特) serving as its government seat. "Xilin” in Mongolian means the Champaign on the plateau while Gol means the river. The name of Xilin Gol League origins from the Xilin River (Gol) where ten banners in Qing Dynasty (qīng cháo 清朝) formed a union. map
