Strip Welding

In Steel Mills joining of coils is an important factor in the production performance of strip processing lines. Especially continuous operated strip processing lines request great demands in respect of the welder cycle time and the weld seam quality.

These both factors determine the utilization time of the process line and increase the quality of the finished product. These requirements are met worldwide by more than 150 Strip Welders KONTINUMAT^(R) with patent cutting and joining technology, built since 1957.

Special Features
- Compact m/c design with integrated shear with high precision double cutting shear
- Strip thickness range 0.25 up to 13 mm and strip width up to 2200 mm
- Stepless automatic cutting gap adjustment (Pat. pend.), programmable
- Automatic, controlled scrap discharge
- stepless weld gap setting for conical and parallel
- Welding carriage and torch in basic position at operator's side, free accessible for easy maintenance and service during strip passage
- PLC control of the welder and auxiliaries
- Man Machine Interface(MMI) for monitoring of the welder status, missing conditions, operation sequences and fault diagnosis with corrective action
- Shortage of the welding data sets in the welder PLC, recallable via the line control or the MMI at the operation board of the welder independence of the strip material and thickness
