The bars are then conveyed towards the counting wheel via a separation screw. A scraping arm ensures that the bars are kept in place in the counting wheel notches. A laser transmitter/receiver, together with an encoder, execute the counting operation as well determines if two bars pass. When the preset number of bars has been counted, the counting wheel stops and a kick-off arm removes the last counted bar. Counting restarts as soon as a go-ahead signal is received from the bar handling separation system. |
