욥11:1 소발의 첫 번째 발언
욥 11:1 Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
욥 11:2 "Are all these words to go unanswered? Is this talker to be vindicated?
욥 11:3 Will your idle talk reduce men to silence? Will no one rebuke you when you mock?
욥 11:4 You say to God, 'My beliefs are flawless and I am pure in your sight.'
욥 11:5 Oh, how I wish that God would speak, that he would open his lips against you
욥 11:6 and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides. Know this: God has even forgotten som e of your sin.
욥 11:7 "Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
욥 11:8 They are higher than the heavens--what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave--what can you k now?
욥 11:9 Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.
욥 11:10 "If he comes along and confines you in prison and convenes a court, who can oppose him?
욥 11:11 Surely he recognizes deceitful men; and when he sees evil, does he not take note?
욥 11:12 But a witless man can no more become wise than a wild donkey's colt can be born a man.
욥 11:13 "Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him,
욥 11:14 if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
욥 11:15 then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear.
욥 11:16 You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by.
욥 11:17 Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning.
욥 11:18 You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
욥 11:19 You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.
욥 11:20 But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp."

욥12:1 욥의 세 번째 대답
욥 12:1 Then Job replied:
욥 12:2 "Doubtless you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!
욥 12:3 But I have a mind as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know all these things?
욥 12:4 "I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called upon God and he answered--a mere laughingsto ck, though righteous and blameless!
욥 12:5 Men at ease have contempt for misfortune as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.
욥 12:6 The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure--those who carry their god in thei r hands.
욥 12:7 "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
욥 12:8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.
욥 12:9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
욥 12:10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
욥 12:11 Does not the ear test words as the tongue tastes food?
욥 12:12 Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?
욥 12:13 "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.
욥 12:14 What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man he imprisons cannot be released.
욥 12:15 If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.
욥 12:16 To him belong strength and victory; both deceived and deceiver are his.
욥 12:17 He leads counselors away stripped and makes fools of judges.
욥 12:18 He takes off the shackles put on by kings and ties a loincloth around their waist.
욥 12:19 He leads priests away stripped and overthrows men long established.
욥 12:20 He silences the lips of trusted advisers and takes away the discernment of elders.
욥 12:21 He pours contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty.
욥 12:22 He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light.
욥 12:23 He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them.
욥 12:24 He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he sends them wandering through a trackless waste.
욥 12:25 They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.

욥13:1 욥의 변론
욥 13:1 "My eyes have seen all this, my ears have heard and understood it.
욥 13:2 What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.
욥 13:3 But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God.
욥 13:4 You, however, smear me with lies; you are worthless physicians, all of you!
욥 13:5 If only you would be altogether silent! For you, that would be wisdom.
욥 13:6 Hear now my argument; listen to the plea of my lips.
욥 13:7 Will you speak wickedly on God's behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him?
욥 13:8 Will you show him partiality? Will you argue the case for God?
욥 13:9 Would it turn out well if he examined you? Could you deceive him as you might deceive men?
욥 13:10 He would surely rebuke you if you secretly showed partiality.
욥 13:11 Would not his splendor terrify you? Would not the dread of him fall on you?
욥 13:12 Your maxims are proverbs of ashes; your defenses are defenses of clay.
욥 13:13 "Keep silent and let me speak; then let come to me what may.
욥 13:14 Why do I put myself in jeopardy and take my life in my hands?
욥 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.
욥 13:16 Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless man would dare come before him!
욥 13:17 Listen carefully to my words; let your ears take in what I say.
욥 13:18 Now that I have prepared my case, I know I will be vindicated.
욥 13:19 Can anyone bring charges against me? If so, I will be silent and die.

욥13:20 욥의 기도
욥 13:20 "Only grant me these two things, O God, and then I will not hide from you:
욥 13:21 Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors.
욥 13:22 Then summon me and I will answer, or let me speak, and you reply.
욥 13:23 How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin.
욥 13:24 Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?
욥 13:25 Will you torment a windblown leaf? Will you chase after dry chaff?
욥 13:26 For you write down bitter things against me and make me inherit the sins of my youth.
욥 13:27 You fasten my feet in shackles; you keep close watch on all my paths by putting marks on the soles of my feet.
욥 13:28 "So man wastes away like something rotten, like a garment eaten by moths.

욥14:1 절망 가운데 소망을 바람
욥 14:1 "Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.
욥 14:2 He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.
욥 14:3 Do you fix your eye on such a one? Will you bring him before you for judgment?
욥 14:4 Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one!
욥 14:5 Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.
욥 14:6 So look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired man.
욥 14:7 "At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not f ail.
욥 14:8 Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil,
욥 14:9 yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
욥 14:10 But man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and is no more.
욥 14:11 As water disappears from the sea or a riverbed becomes parched and dry,
욥 14:12 so man lies down and does not rise; till the heavens are no more, men will not awake or be roused from their s leep.
욥 14:13 "If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!
욥 14:14 If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come.
욥 14:15 You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made.
욥 14:16 Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin.
욥 14:17 My offenses will be sealed up in a bag; you will cover over my sin.
욥 14:18 "But as a mountain erodes and crumbles and as a rock is moved from its place,
욥 14:19 as water wears away stones and torrents wash away the soil, so you destroy man's hope.
욥 14:20 You overpower him once for all, and he is gone; you change his countenance and send him away.
욥 14:21 If his sons are honored, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he does not see it.
욥 14:22 He feels but the pain of his own body and mourns only for himself."
