°Ö 20:1 In the seventh year, in the fifth month on the tenth day, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and they sat down in front of me.
°Ö 20:2 Then the word of the LORD came to me:
°Ö 20:3 "Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Have yo u come to inquire of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign LORD.'
°Ö 20:4 "Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Then confront them with the detestable practices of their fathers

°Ö 20:5 and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I chose Israel, I swore with uplifted hand t o the descendants of the house of Jacob and revealed myself to them in Egypt. With uplifted hand I said to them, "I am the LORD your God."
°Ö 20:6 On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a lan d flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.
°Ö 20:7 And I said to them, "Each of you, get rid of the vile images you have set your eyes on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."
°Ö 20:8 "'But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they ha d set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my a nger against them in Egypt.
°Ö 20:9 But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations they lived among and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites by bringing them out of Egypt.

°Ö 20:10 Therefore I led them out of Egypt and brought them into the desert.
°Ö 20:11 I gave them my decrees and made known to them my laws, for the man who obeys them will live by them.
°Ö 20:12 Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the LORD made them holy.
°Ö 20:13 "'Yet the people of Israel rebelled against me in the desert. They did not follow my decrees but rejected my laws--although the man who obeys them will live by them--and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and destroy them in the desert.
°Ö 20:14 But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose s ight I had brought them out.
°Ö 20:15 Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the desert that I would not bring them into the land I had given th em--a land flowing with milk and honey, most beautiful of all lands--
°Ö 20:16 because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols.
°Ö 20:17 Yet I looked on them with pity and did not destroy them or put an end to them in the desert.

°Ö20:18 À̽º¶ó¿¤°ú ¸ÎÀº ±Ô·Ê
°Ö 20:18 I said to their children in the desert, "Do not follow the statutes of your fathers or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols.
°Ö 20:19 I am the LORD your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
°Ö 20:20 Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God. "
°Ö 20:21 "'But the children rebelled against me: They did not follow my decrees, they were not careful to keep my laws--although the man who obeys them will live by them--and they desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in the desert.
°Ö 20:22 But I withheld my hand, and for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes o f the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.
°Ö 20:23 Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the desert that I would disperse them among the nations and scatter them through the countries,
°Ö 20:24 because they had not obeyed my laws but had rejected my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths, and their eyes lus ted after their fathers' idols.
°Ö 20:25 I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by;
°Ö 20:26 I let them become defiled through their gifts--the sacrifice of every firstborn--that I might fill them with h orror so they would know that I am the LORD.'

°Ö 20:29 Then I said to them: What is this high place you go to?'" (It is called Bamah to this day.)
°Ö 20:30 "Therefore say to the house of Israel: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Will you defile yourselves the way your fathers did and lust after their vile images?
°Ö 20:31 When you offer your gifts--the sacrifice of your sons in the fire--you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. Am I to let you inquire of me, O house of Israel? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LO RD, I will not let you inquire of me.

°Ö 20:35 I will bring you into the desert of the nations and there, face to face, I will execute judgment upon you.
°Ö 20:36 As I judged your fathers in the desert of the land of Egypt, so I will judge you, declares the Sovereign LORD.
°Ö 20:37 I will take note of you as you pass under my rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.
°Ö 20:38 I will purge you of those who revolt and rebel against me. Although I will bring them out of the land where th ey are living, yet they will not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
°Ö 20:39 "'As for you, O house of Israel, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you! But afterward you will surely listen to me and no longer profane my holy name with your gifts and idols.

°Ö 20:41 I will accept you as fragrant incense when I bring you out from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will show myself holy among you in the sight of the nations.
°Ö 20:42 Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the land of Israel, the land I had sworn with upl ifted hand to give to your fathers.

°Ö 20:45 The word of the LORD came to me:

°Ö 23:1 The word of the LORD came to me:
°Ö 23:2 "Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother.
°Ö 23:3 They became prostitutes in Egypt, engaging in prostitution from their youth. In that land their breasts were fo ndled and their virgin bosoms caressed.
°Ö 23:4 The older was named Oholah, and her sister was Oholibah. They were mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. O holah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
°Ö 23:5 "Oholah engaged in prostitution while she was still mine; and she lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians-- warriors

°Ö 23:7 She gave herself as a prostitute to all the elite of the Assyrians and defiled herself with all the idols of ev eryone she lusted after.
°Ö 23:8 She did not give up the prostitution she began in Egypt, when during her youth men slept with her, caressed her virgin bosom and poured out their lust upon her.
°Ö 23:9 "Therefore I handed her over to her lovers, the Assyrians, for whom she lusted.

°Ö 23:11 "Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet in her lust and prostitution she was more depraved than her sister.
°Ö 23:12 She too lusted after the Assyrians--governors and commanders, warriors in full dress, mounted horsemen, all ha ndsome young men.
°Ö 23:13 I saw that she too defiled herself; both of them went the same way.
°Ö 23:14 "But she carried her prostitution still further. She saw men portrayed on a wall, figures of Chaldeans po rtrayed in red,
°Ö 23:15 with belts around their waists and flowing turbans on their heads; all of them looked like Babylonian chariot officers, natives of Chaldea.
°Ö 23:16 As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.
°Ö 23:17 Then the Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and in their lust they defiled her. After she had been d efiled by them, she turned away from them in disgust.
°Ö 23:18 When she carried on her prostitution openly and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister.
°Ö 23:19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in E gypt.
°Ö 23:20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.
°Ö 23:21 So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fon dled.
