웨스트민스터 회의(Westminster Assembly, 1643. 7. 1-1649. 2. 22) 기간 중에서 작성된 장로교회의 신앙문답서. 교역자를 위한 '대요리문답'(Larger Catechism, 196문답)과 평신도를 위한 '소요리문답'(Shorter Catechism, 107문답)이 있다. 그 내용은 십계명 및 주기도문의 해설과 칼빈주의의 형태를 따른 교리체계의 독자적 진술로 되어 있고, 사도신경이 부록으로 첨가되어 있다. 특징으로는, 간결함과 철저한 논리를 들 수 있다.

한국 장로교회는 1907년 독노회가 조직됨과 동시에 웨스트민스터 요리문답을 교회의 표준서로 채용했다. 대한 장로교회 신경 서문에 '대한 장로교회에서 이 아래 기록한 몇 가지 조목으로 신경을 삼아 목사와 및 인허 강도인과 장로와 집사로 하여금 청종케 하는 것이 대한교회를 설립한 본 교회의 가르친바 취지와 표준을 버림이 아니요, 오히려 찬성함이니 특별히 웨스트민스터 신경과 성경요리문답 대소책자는 성경을 밝히 해설할 책인즉 우리 교회와 신학교에서 마땅히 가르칠 것으로 알며 그 중에 성경요리문답 적은 책을 더욱 교회 문답으로 삼느니라.'
